Tapioca Starch grows in an equatorial environment, it is extracted from the tuberous roots of the manioc plant. With regards to the region of growth, plants may be known as yucca, cassava, mandioca or tapioca. Tapioca Starch is white amorphous powder which is insoluble in water so it can be used as a thickener to make pudding, soups, sauces, potato chips and meat products. In various Asian countries, including Indonesia, China, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Philippines, Malaysia, and Taiwan, tapioca pearls are widely used and are known as sagudana.
